The Terneuzen site of Trinseo operates state-of-the-art plants for the production of plastic compounds, polystyrene, ABS, latex, and styrene monomer. These products are well-known for their performance in an array of applications from packaging and food service, to large appliances, portable appliances, consumer electronics, paper and flooring, and automotive.
Besides the production plants, the site has a global Research & Development center exploring new products and process optimizations for Trinseo.
The plants, which were owned and operated by The Dow Chemical Company for many years, transferred to Trinseo in 2010 when the Trinseo businesses were divested to Bain capital.
The Trinseo Terneuzen site has 380 employees and about 50 embedded contractors who operate the plants, the R&D center, and related activities. Furthermore, the Trinseo workforce is also responsible for their own maintenance department, as well as logistic and administrative operations for Trinseo assets on site.
Trinseo operates close to the Terneuzen community and maintains close relations with the Terneuzen authorities and community stakeholders.
