On the 21st of December, Industria will hold its half-annual Case Competition. During this evening, participants will enjoy a delicious free dinner and will compete against each other in two cases. The first case will be presented by Eyeon, a management consulting company specializing in forecasting and planning. The subject of the case will be the following:

Some challenges in production are that purchasing lead times are longer than the promised customer lead time. Furthermore, companies struggle with how much and which products they are going to sell.  And all that goes together with large dependencies of components for manufacturing

To face these challenges, we can use inventory management and forecasting. In this case hosted by EyeOn, you will be a car manufacturer with the goal to get the highest profit. Each team will get a market share of the total demand and needs to sell as much as possible at minimal costs. Let’s see who can do best!

The second case will be presented by Gordian, a consultancy specializing in service logistics. The case will challenge you to be an airliner and maximize its profit. To do so, you will face several (service) logistical challenges such as tactical inventory management and uncertain lead times.

After this, a winning team is announced who will receive an amazing price! This competition acts as the TIMES Local Qualification. This means that the winner of the case competition gets to compete in the TIMES regional final, which will be against other teams from Germany and Belgium. This Regional Final will be held in Brussels, and the costs Industria will pay your trip to Brussels! The winner of this Regional Final gets to compete in the Europese final, where a lot of big prizes are distributed!
